The apostle Paul instructed those in the church to take on a Christ-like behavior that is evident in gentleness. Our art project on gentleness began with members of the choir creating a fabric square that, for them, represented “love”. The squares were then sewn together with different types of fabric to create the back panel of a ‘taggie’ blanket. The other side of the taggie was a very soft fabric in our rainbow (promise) theme. Tags of different shapes, colours and fabrics were then pinned onto the fabric. As a last step, everything was sewn together. We had enough material to make 14 blankets. The majority of blankets were donated to single parents and newborns through the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre, an outreach program of Woodynook Christian Reformed Church (Lacombe, AB). |
